How Do I Install Metatrader 4 Custom Indicators?

Installing custom indicators to the Metatrader 4 terminal is pretty easy and straight forward.

Step 1

Download the custom indicator(s) to your desktop or in any folder on your computer of your preference. If you have downloaded a ZIP file containing the MT4 indicators, you will need to unzip it first. Tools to unzip files include jZip, WinZip, CAM UnZip,…

Step 2

Find Metatrader 4 installed on your computer. For example (C:\Program Files\Metatrader 4 (broker’s name).

Step 3

Go to C:\Program Files\Metatrader 4 (broker’s name)\experts\indicators.

Step 4

Now, simply drag-and-drop your custom MT4 indicators from your download folder (step 1) into the MT4 indicators folder.

Step 5

(Re)start Metatrader 4.

Step 6

You’ll find the installed custom indicators in the Metatrader 4 terminal custom indicators folder. You can access the folder by clicking Insert (top menu) > Indicators > Custom

Final Step

Attach the custom indicators to your charts.
